ABOUT US
I feel called to do this work and bring families together. I view my job as a blessing and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the divine guidance and rich mentorships I’ve received along my own personal journey.
Angie Goudschaal
Angie’s always had a passion for working with children and their families. Upon graduating with her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 1998 from Midwestern University, she dove head first into learning everything she could about autism, early childhood development, sensory integration, and parent coaching.
She’s since earned DIR®-Floortime™ expert level certification, has received extensive training in interactive metronome and sensory integration therapies, and received more than a decade of reflective supervision from pioneers in the developmental space.
She began working at Attune, Inc. upon its inception in 2002 and took over ownership in 2013, renaming the company to Attune Therapy. For more than 23 years, Angie has been dedicated to developing the intimate connections between children and their families that she’s honored to get to work with.

“My goal is to support a family’s journey; to help unlock connections and foster the growth of relationships. To me that’s the most important thing I can do. Once I understand where the child and parent are at, I can teach parents the tools they can use to attune with their child.”
Most days, you’ll find Angie providing support to families through her DIR®-Floortime™ approach to Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Developmental Therapy, and Parent Coaching. Or you may also find her helping adults attune to their bodies through her personalized, one-on-one virtual yoga that she teaches.
Could you use some outside support from an expert at your school, event, practice, or group gathering? Book Angie to come speak and share her experiences as well as provide helpful advice from an OT, speech, developmental, parent support, and play therapy perspective. Our Philosophy
We believe early intervention is key to a child’s developmental growth and overall prognosis. Presuming competence and working from a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach allows us to build the trust and safe space where connection can grow and thrive.
It’s in this place where we can begin working on developmental capacities and start building up capabilities that are individualized and attuned to the child and family’s needs.
About Attune Therapy
For more than 20 years, Attune Therapy has been dedicated to serving families in Hyde Park and all across the Chicagoland area. As a developmental, play-based center, we take the child’s lead and attune to their interests so that we can start developing trust and connection. Each session we focus on creating meaningful exchanges so that we’re working toward developmental progress.
Grounded in the developmental, individualized, relationship-based model (DIR®-Floortime™), we help children and their families looking for support in the treatment of
- Autism
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Sensory Processing Disorder
- Other Developmental Challenges

What Parents Have to Say
Attune Therapy provided compassionate, strength-based OT and speech services that truly supported my child’s growth in his early years. As a parent, I also gained valuable strategies and a deeper understanding of how sensory processing and regulation play a crucial role in his daily functioning. Their child-first approach made a lasting impact on our family!” – Parent of a 9 year old
Angie began working with my daughter slightly after her second birthday. She was a Godsend and both treated my child and taught me how to be the best mother I could be. My daughter is now heading off to a prestigious college and has the type of social life I could only dream of when she was young. Angie made both our dreams come true.” – Parent of now a college graduate
